SYNC upgrades NATO’s framework for working with industry and reflects the growing role of industry in strengthening the Alliance’s deterrence and defence. It sets out three main objectives: enhancing communication and collaboration with industry; advancing innovation and interoperability; and strengthening, scaling and sustaining defence production across the Alliance. The strategy aims to improve industry’s access to NATO; provide greater visibility of Allied capability needs; and simplify engagement with NATO for companies of all sizes, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and non-traditional suppliers.
