NATO welcomes EUMS for biannual Directors’ General Conference

NATO welcomed EUMS Director General Michiel van der Laan to the 25th EUMS–IMS Directors’ General Conference at NATO Headquarters in Brussels on 22 June 2026.
Both Directors General reviewed progress on the joint EUMS–IMS work plan and exchanged views on cooperation, information exchange, and practical military staff-to-staff collaboration.
Discussions covered intelligence exchanges, current operations and missions, defence capability and conceptual cooperation, space, logistics, medical cooperation, CIS interoperability, cyber defence, and gender perspective, including updates on EUMAM Ukraine and NSATU.
Directors General provided guidance to continue agreed lines of effort, welcomed continued momentum in cooperation, and scheduled the next conference for 20 November 2026 hosted by the EUMS.
