The future of Kosovo and NATO’s mission in Afghanistan were the focus of an informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the 26 NATO member countries. The meeting came as the UN envoy on Kosovo, former Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari, briefed the international community in Vienna on his proposal for the resolution of the status of Kosovo. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Mr. De Hoop Scheffer said that NATO fully supports the process laid out by Mr. Ahtisaari. “ NATO-KFOR will play its part through and beyond the status process, ” said the Secretary General.
